Can we agree on one thing? Camping is fun!
There is a sense of freedom to explore and to choose- the freedom to customize your own experience.

Proposal
3D CAMPGROUND is organized by a Light Mobility Route along Footpaths, into and through the building. These ramps deliver workers to individual office campsites with different topographies and character. Campsites contain campfires (amenities) and camps (work areas).
The need for front door disappears as transportation can be called to specific locations vertically in the building. Ramps connect Light Mobility between different floor levels locally and at a leisurely speed while Foot Paths move between campsites for quick access to the above and below.

Process & Research
To better understand how a campground operates three existing Yosemite Campgrounds were analyzed and then distilled down into their primary constituents:

The main road, vehicle parking, foot paths, tent spaces, and fire pits.

To help recreate this environment in an office, specific natural elements were selected and then translated artificially.
For example, fire is an element that brings people together. Within an office, "fire" becomes the amenities and social gathering spaces.

Structural Concept
Each level of the 3D campground utilizes a specific structural strategy to help create the artificial natural typology.
For example, Caves are Vaults...Canyons are Partiwalls...Mountains are Beineke Columns...Forest Trees are Circular Columns

Plan Logic

Each level has their own workspace and amenities. The amenities along the main ramp connect people to different levels. This encourages people to explore above and below.
In the Cave, amenities and circulation are integrated with the structure. People work around the structure and can move to the above canyon from the main ramp in the central GYM or small circulation in the structure.
The Canyon floor consist of linear work areas and several amenities such as a daycare and small cafes. The desks are directly generated by the campground topography. People can choose to stand to work or sit down based on the height of desks.
As one ascend from the canyon they will arrive at the Mountains which contains a large auditorium, medium conference room and few storage rooms. Work areas are distributed both between and above the mountains structure. The topography not only generates the circulation space but also generates large steps for people to sit down and work together.
The Forest floor is a large open space with small columns. People can work on the ground floor or the staggered tree house mezzanines. People can also go to the beach roof from the spiral ramps. Here light-wells allow light to enter the forest.
